Hello one and all, this link shows a channel which may be of interest. https://www.youtube.com/c/ThePostApocalypticInventor/videos
On this channel old radios are restored and the second link ties in a previous restoration topic. https://www.youtube.com/c/MrCarlsonsLab/videos Machinery restoration website.
Not a bad restoration but I would have done a few things differently. I'm not sure black was a great colour for a miners lamb... orange or yellow maybe but I'd check to see what colour they were originally. Soldering the wires to the screw terminals seemed a bit excessive. Gold leaf looks pretty but I might have tried to get the reflector plated, even on a potentially rough surface it would be better than gold IMHO. Also, sand blasting can be very destructive... citric acid can be quicker and easier. Just a few of my observations but what do you guys think?
Jean, I genuinely laughed out loud! Honestly what would we do without autocorrect to brighten our day?
After watching this video I will feel a complete idiot when I will be proud of myself after fettling a stove or lamp… If I only had 1/50 of his skills… Thanks for sharing, Nicola
