Wanted to wait till it got dark and took the opportunity to give a plated Guardsman it’s first light.
So, here’s to all the nurses and one in particular and to our very special health service.

Since the Covid 19 infestation in the UK I have been lighting up every dusktime here .. at the mo' it is around
2100 hrs ... three lamps at the front of my property on a plum and pear tree, they are 2 feuerhand 276 baby
specials red /yellow and a trusty green Bialaddin 310 between em ...and the side gate a Chalwyn tropic is placed. I have also small Danish solar globe lights that hang on my fence and the top of my Clematis plants
plenty to look at ..... if only people were walking about though due to the lockdown scenario..good luck everyone

...and this is the little blighter that refused to light the other night:-

    Bialaddin 310.jpg
    Bialaddin 310 with original/correct globe.

I prodded a few seals this afternoon to check they were still soft - they were. Then I checked all unions to make sure they were tight - they were. I put the globe back in and the top back on, fuelled it and primed it then it burst into life, co-incidentally just at 8.00pm tonight. The tops a bit scabby where the welds are and someone's painted it silver with heatproof paint to cover that up - otherwise it's a nice little lantern which burns well.

Incidentally, my daughter's Covid-19 test came back negative so that's a relief - I might light something and have a little bevy... :D/

Thanks, both of you. :D

My daughter is feeling better (though undiagnosed still) and aims not to spend all today in bed - fingers crossed. [-o<

As with all my stuff, Alex - the 310 can go. I did spot one on a well-known auction site but the globe was cracked and finding another is getting difficult and probably won't be cheap. The later ones fit but just don't look right IMHO...

Wow, don't know how but I've only just read this thread! Anyway a little later tonight I'll light a lamp or two for nurses everywhere.
