Hi - How I did it This is how I shipped an old pressurelamp to the USA. I disassembled the lamp and shipped all parts except the tank. I then called DHL, the department for dangerous goods, and asked what to do, and this is what I suggested, and advised by DHL to do. Make sure that the tank is absolutely clean and doesn´t smell of fuel in any way. I then made a sheet of paper, desciping the content in details, pointing out that the tank is without fuellid and not in any way possible to presurerize. Futhermore I took 2-3 photos of the tank and taped/glued the desription and the photos to the outside of the package. Then I shipped the tank and used DHL, and the package arrived in the USA with no problems. Expensive, but it worked. By shipping the tank and other parts seperately, there is a better chance that only the tank will be lost if the package is checked and returned because of some officious airport inspector. Regards Niels Chr.
In the Good ol' Days I have received lanterns and stoves from the USA full of fuel. Amazing how things change.
