Strange Request for a Tilley Tank!

Without going into too much detail my new partner has developed an interest in Lampology and I am trying to find a lamp for her namely an X246b with a stamp date on the tank of 05/71
( Her birthdate of May 1971) Does such a tank exist and can anyone help me out? Will buy or swap for a similar age tank.
Strange Request but if I can keep my lovely lady interested in Lamps then it's a definite advantage!

 

O'boy, is it ever! Not a Tilley expert but I think you would not have a lot of trouble finding that date. They made quite a few Tilley X246b's and I'm sure they made one in May '71!

I have a tank from 1971, but it's from the wrong month, 9,71.

 

Sorry but i don't have one, either not the year or no date at all. Keep looking im sure you will find one.all the best

 

I will have a look through my stash in case one with the right date is there.
