Got this off fleabay. I intend to disassemble it and clean it (in citric acid) but the collar seems to be "stuck". Did they solder them or should I soak the collar area in a penetrant to get it off? Recommendations?
It's always hard to tell if we're all using the same names for parts. Typically, collar would refer to the ring with "QuickLite" stamped in it. It's been a while since I had my 327s apart, but as I recall, everything that needs to be removed for cleaning/restoration is threaded on or held in place by another part. @mark0123 Welcome. You mentioned the markings on the “collar” in your previous post, so I’m assuming you are referring to the cylinder that sits between the tank (fount) and the base of the globe cage. It should be removable, not fixed to the fount. It is often referred to as the collar. Coleman called this part (at least in some manuals) the “globe base rest”. Cheers Tony
