Last Sunday swap meet find. I'm basically a pressure lamp newbie so if I posted this in the wrong place please be gentle. I started out wanting a couple period specific pressure lamps to use with some of the old stoves I have accumulated. I thought that would make sense. Someone should of warned me that these things multiply faster than the stoves. Currently at about a dozen lamps including these two. I only wanted the 237 kerosene burner Coleman but he was selling as a pair so brought the Optimus 930 home as well. What little I know about North American pressure lamps I know even less about European pressure lamps. However...after a rudimentary safety check and fount gasket replacement decided I should fuel up and strike the match that hopefully would make the light. Both lamps looked like they hadn't been run in years. The Coleman was trying to light within less than 30 seconds of preheat. It gives off a growling phenomenal amount of blinding light. It took me a little while to figure out how the 930 functioned. It is a little different from the more familiar to me Coleman type lanterns. The 930 is no powerhouse but it has grown on me. I like it and am glad I bought the pair. I think I'm going to have to be careful. These things are addictive.
Welcome aboard, and you can believe they are addictive. http://www.classicpressurelamps.com/forum/skins/CPL_BLACKTEXT/icons/tongue.gif
