Hmm, clean-looking bunch - puts us Brits to shame! Great pictures of great lamps - looks like you all had a great time! Any chance of a few group shots posted here with names? It's sad to say but I don't know what any of the Scandinavian contingent look like...
Thanks Jukka! Looks like a great meeting. We had your webcam feed on the computer & looked in from time to time to see what was happening. I think I see Nils & possibly Albert White (111 talk?) that I recognise.
Hello, it is Nils Stephensom that was holding the small lecture about Primus and optimus table and hanging lamps, the lecture about Optimus 111 was held by Kjell Andersson. Both are true enthusiasts and collectors, with profund knowledge about the items that they were talking about. As usual, a pleasant meeting with knowledge being shared, items and parts swaped, waffles, coffe and dinner being cooked on Swedish kerosene stoves. What specially made me glad was seeing varoius collectors eagerly helping out a "newbeginner". As I say from time to time, every one was once a newbeginner at one time. Best regards, Albert Arvidsson
It was a great meeting and a good time was had by all. I didn't take many photos and what I did are pretty similar to Jukka's. It's a good thing we didn't have to think about CO2 quotas, as the ammount of kerosene (and petrol) used was substantial.
One of the highligts during the year. Not everyday you could play with your kero toys among other people who enjoys it. Many photos are the same as Jukka's but let's share. http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/stepside55/primus_2011_110826/?albumview=slideshow best regards Joakim
Jukka and Joakim, thank you both for sharing those lovely pictures. Very nice to get a view of how it all went.
Thanks for sharing the photos, did I see a Veritas Superb which was actually working? If so, how long did burn for? Jeff.
Yes, I thought I'd seen that too, Jeff, but I reckoned I must have been dreaming. Still, if you also saw it, maybe it did happen... Was that Rory Gallagher I saw on the side of the VW camper? If so, well done that man! Could it be I have a twin brother living somewhere in Sweden and we were separated at birth! 8)
If I remember correctly, the Superb ran for a couple of hours. At least until it ran out of kero I think. I was wondering if it was the model everyone has been talking about.
Don't count on it! I guess your twin brother just as well could be living in Germany since many of the participants of the Primus Meetings comes from there.
Germany? - no problem! That's a country I like a great deal. If only I could get their lanterns to work properly, that is...
