    Hi Sven, and welcome. I'm relatively new as well. Sorry I can't help on the thread except that it is unlikely to be a modern metric thread because of the age and origin of the lamp. There were several different UK threads in 'the olden days' with strange names like Whitworth, AF, BA and many others.

    I have seen a fascinating tool called a thread gauge that has a number of blades, each with a series of teeth matched to specific threads, that enables you to find the exact thread for either a nut or a bolt but I don't have one.

    I guess that is a long-winded way of saying "I don't know" in answer to your question, but I'm sure someone here will know exactly.
