Have just disassembled another lamp I aquired and the mixing tube and its holder have been damaged some what. Just wondering what the safest way there is to make it round again (see pics)and remove the dent from the mixing tube?
At the moment I can not unscrew it and my thought was to apply some heat and make the brass somewhat supple and gently tap with a light hammer to try and make it round so as I can unscrew it at least. Then try and remove the dent from the mixing tube by making a wooden plug in a similar shape as the end of the tube a tap out the dent?
    Thoughts?
Am I going about this all wrong?

Judging by your photos that burner is knackered.
