Hi fellas, a bit of drama, whilst checking to see if I had a leak because I saw some build up that smelt like kerosene. It broke away , bit of a pop tink sound pressure released,, not happy but what can be done. Any advice
Darryl I think it depends on what is on the inside of the fount at the two locations. If there is a soldered bush inside I'd desolder them, (recover them) and leave just the hole and make up two fittings to be reinserted from the inside via the filler cap using wires for reach. They could have a surface presoldered and topped up from the outside.
Resoldering is the way forward. But it's a bit odd. When having a stud project like this on other lamps, Tilley used a roundhead set screw with a slim, circular nut on the outside. Not sure why it was not made this.
