Tilley Hoods

    Hello all,
    If anyone has the patience can you advise me on Tilley X246 and X246A hoods? (I'm trying to put together one lamp from parts but need to find a hood probably from ebay. ) Was it the same hood on both types and for that matter is it the same as the one on the X246B? To my novice eyes they all look the same shape- just different colours.

    There are some minor differences, but they will all fit.

    All Gold painted X246 and early X246A used the brown hood. Plated X246 used the black type. From about June 1962 the X246A and all later X246B lamps used a black hood. ::Neil::
