    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the correct position for the adjustment knob on the R1A? I have one that the knob is located behind the dish facing the back but very awkward next to the handle and 1 more that is front & center where it maybe will get too hot to get near to turn off? from what I can see they seem to be all over the place for placement.

Yes, we've just had this debate elsewhere in respect of Bialaddin bowlfires. Where the control cock / pricker control ends up depends on the thickness of the washer underneath it. During service, the washers tend to compress a bit and the cock needs to be tightened up from time-to-time, so it can end up in an awkward place.

Replacement washers supplied by the original manufacturer will be the optimum thickness so that the knob ends up in the correct place. Aftermarket (or your own) washers may need a bit of tinkering to get the knob where you want it.

    Hope that helps...

When this problem occurs, I either add a second washer or fit a thicker washer, Jeff.
