Hi, I just got a little bit of Tilley stuff and within this were three reflectors which should belong to the Tilleys (246 A and B) as I have been told. Does anybody know these? I think they also could be for multiple lamp use. They're foldable and have two gaps for mounting at the bail on each side. The lamp is the one I'm fettling now. Not from the lot. In the front left you can see it foldered. Right is the backside. Regards Roman
Hi Roman - very interesting finds. I have never encountered one of these for a 246 or seen it in any Tilley literature. Could they have been adapted from another reflector ?
Hi, These are definetly not adapted. All three are the same. The lot of Tilley stuff I purchased was called as Switzerland Army. But there are two boxes with a receivers adress: Chef Baudienst Zürich. I think this is what I know as "Bauamt" an would be international called something like building office or authority.
A little Google.... Wim you are the winner! Yes, is really the same as the Petromax side reflector. Thanks very much....but I don't need these... I'm not a Petromaxian or Petromaxicion..... I like colours.
Wow nice haul of Swiss Tilley parts too ! The Swiss army and civil defence used Tilley lamps. There are or where special FL6 wooden boxes as well as bridge repair boxes with Tilley AL620 hand lamps. Source: internet
Some of Swiss bauamt had to order those reflectors as an addition but who made them, some Swiss factory, petromax or Tilley? Apparently somebody adopted petromax reflector for Tilley...
