Which size vapouriser was original with these lamps. The 606 seems a little short with the globe and insect screen on. Should it be the 169?

    Regards

Hi ian originally it would have had the short 606 vapouriser on it so its right what you have, will look ok with the longer 169 tho if you feel its better over here in the uk not many of us use insect screening so never really noticed myself

    cheers pete

    Hi Ian
This is my new in box TL106.
    You'll see the vapouriser is a 606

Yes all the table lamps after WW2 used the short 606 vaporiser. So all TL106/TL116 and TL120 and 120A were fitted with 606. It is short and most of these lamps look better and manage easier with the longer 169 but it is not strictly correct in these later lamps. ::Neil::

I have trouble preheating my 106 as the torch doesn't seem to get enough air to burn properly as it sits right under the globe. I also managed to crack an original 182 globe, possibly due to it being too close to the torch and overheating :(
