    Hi @KAB the plating appears to have lifted on the fount. I had a almost virgin Tilley X246 Guardsman do the same. Perhaps not a good day at the Tilley factory that day. A good polish will help hide it some.
    Its a great find and I’m looking forward to the money shot.
    Cheers
    Pete

    I would be interested in what others think but having an XN cock would mean it should be plated with speculum.
    That would mean that this one had been originally brass and chrome plated at a later date ?

    (If you do a search on speculum, best not do it at work or search "speculum metal")

    Hi @Anthony you may be correct, I'll have another read of Jim's book as to what he says.

    @KAB

    I’d be happy to own one even if the plating is peeling.

    @Edekaboy1987

    Looking forward to seeing some of your collection.
