Hello, My name is Daniel. I've been a collector of oil lamps and miners lamps as well as some pressure lamps for a long time. I have a Tilley table lamp that I acquired when I lived in the UK for some number of years. I am in the process of seeing if I can get it running again and would like to know which model it is. My belief is that it's a TL136 based on the height compared to what I saw for a TL120 in a brochure. Most of it comes apart pretty easily except the needle section of the vaporizer. With a dose of penetrating oil the needle seems to move. The globe that is on it is marked Tilley 182. I am hoping to buy the right gasket and mantle sets to go through it and then hope to get it running! Nice to meet you all!

    Daniel

Hi Daniel and welcome from the Scottish Highlands. As Jeff mentions, easy to get going.
Please do show us your other lamps!

Love the Highlands! Well met! I spent 23 years in Yorkshire which is where this lamp came from. Used to go diving occasionally, just across the Scottish border near Eyemouth, but up into the Highlands near Skye regularly (Balmacara) , and the islands of Mull, and the Orkneys. My last trip to the UK in 2019 I took a road trip back up to Skye again. Makes the heart soar. If the virus tamps down will be spending 4-5 months back working in Yorkshire this year. The rest of the non-modern lamps are oil and miners, and I will round up a group shot of them though they don't really tie into this forum, but just acquired a modern petromax still in its little wooden box for weather emergencies, and have a couple of vintage Colemans (though I bought them new some 30 years ago) that when they are hissing and roaring remind me of camping, hunting and fishing trips with my dad. Smelt fishing with a dip net along a river bank with the Coleman roaring is particularly evocative memory.
