Tilley X246B

I have recently received this lamp. I would love to get it to working order but I don't know how to tell what year, model and type it is. I have looked at several that are close to it, but not matching it perfectly.

That is a Tilley X-246-B which has been fitted with an earlier pump and control cock, the build quality of those two parts is far superior to the modern ones, so you have scored!

There will be a date code on the bottom of the tank and there is relevant paperwork in this forum's library, but it is only open to subscribers.

Thank you for the reply! On the bottom, it looks like it says 1271X then maybe a B.

 

That code means December 1971.

Welcome. You will need to obtain a pre-heater, which you soak with methelated spirit / alcohol to heat the vaporizer and burner before pressurizing. Have a look on YouTube for instruction, Broadlander has some useful ones.
