This is a hybrid of sorts. Yes, it has a wick, but it uses vapour pressure to fuel the mantle. It really does deserve a home, so I'm putting it here. (The intensity is controlled by vapour to the jet/mantle, so another reason that it deserves a home here.) I don't know much about these since most of the European web resources have gone off line since I started this project.

Err, is the point of the wick as a pre heater? Or am I being thick?
    Great lamp!

The wick carries the fuel up to the top that harvests heat and acts as the vapourizer. Mind you, this is an alcohol burner!

Tito Landing lamps has been well covered in here over the years.
Just search for Tito Landi, but also Titus even if it will bring a bit fewer results.
Great lamps, and for indoor use I actually prefer them over real pressure lamps.
I don't fancy the alcohol versions so much, but the gasoline lamps run extremely well.
Silent and gives a good light, but most important to me: fully dimmable! I hate bright light when you don't need it.
