Bought this turner yesterday (12.50). Don't know much about it. Seems to be a x 159 from searching info. Pump rod is missing any idea where I can get parts for it. I have not torn into it yet so don't know what else i would need. Seems to be all there except the pump rod & the model & instruction tag & the knob on the one valve on the right. Any info on this lantern would be great.
I’m still learning about the Turners also. Can’t imagine they are easy to find and it’s a shame as the Pump knob detail is one of the real features on these for me. Try the parts request forum on CPL or it would be worth asking the question on the Coleman collectors sites. Hope you find what you’re looking for.
Scott D, how does it pump up, I see no hole in the pump knob like Coleman lanterns do. Do you unscrew it some like the Colemans? Someone must have removed the pump rod for parts because I can't see it just pulling out.
The Turner 1511 is a fine-looking lantern. Not common at all in my area. The pump knob appears to feature a stamping of a gymnast on a pommel horse? The valve knob does not appear to be removable.
Hi @Joseph Pietro and welcome! that is a very distinctive lantern I admit I don’t know a great deal about Turner but if you have a look in the Reference Gallery there are some great photos and information there. Here is a post by a member of a different model but it shows the pump which may be similar to yours? Thanks to @Toby Garner i hope that is helpful regards pb
@Joseph Pietro depending on where you're located you can find Turner blow torches at yard sales and junk shops on the cheap... I see then often for $5-$10 and have bought a couple just for the pumps. If you need more detailed pictures of these pumps let me know, I have a few setting around here. Here's my example of your lantern. Western Auto Supply Co. X159 (By: Turner)
