Decided to post this on the open forum since I'm not entirely convinced this is actually lantern or stove related. Coleman fuel cap for scale. This came in a lot of Coleman and AGM parts I purchased last year. For all I know, it could just be a bicycle tool somebody threw in the lot. The wrenches do fit various bits on Coleman 220 style lanterns, but I don't have any other brands to test it on. I'm curious what purpose of the hole in the middle is for too. Anyways, just wanted to hear what you guys think it is. Thanks, Ethan
Re what the hole/slot in the tool is for I cannot be definitive. However, about 1985, when I got my Coleman 228B lantern the tool was attached to the ventilator with this hole/slot and the ball nut was holding it on.
The slot in the center is for removing the jet from the generator. As Tony said it's a variable wrench. It works like a bicycle spoke wrench. These are two of my great-grandfather's spoke wrenches. One stays in my fettle box for removing jets, that way I don't have to dig through the pile of lantern wrenches to find one like yours.
