@ColinG and @Damien Here is the link to the brass tube I use. Small Round Brass Tube Assortment (18 Pieces, 300mm Long) - K+S Colin, let me know if you want me to get a pack, it come in assorted sizes, and I’ll ship it to you. I think I stuffed up, I thinking it’s the 1/16” brass tube I use, not the 1/8”. I’ll check tomorrow and let you know. Cheers Pete
Thanks Pete... and Martin and Tony and Darryl... the list just keeps growing! I'll get some of those assorted tubes and the appropriate dies.... Blackwoods here we come!
Great work and pics to show the process, does the assembly need lapping in to shut off fuel? I’m getting everything together to do this thanks to your efforts here.I bought acupuncture needles which fit the jet nicely and waiting on the brass tube. And 2mm die
Hi Pete, I can't see how it happened but I somehow missed your kind offer! I checked and they have a different product offering but essentially, I would very much like you to get some tube for me so I can begin creating Veritas prickers. This looks like the closest replacement with sufficient wall thickness no take a thread. The other 1/16 brass tube has a very thin wall thickness. Cheers Colin
@ColinG I got my tubing from here and it works a treat. https://www.modelscenerysupplies.co.uk/brands/albion-alloys/Round-micro-brass-Tube-2mm Enter 2mm brass tube (or tubing) in your search bar for more choices e.g. Brass Tubing 2mm - Etsy,
I have 2mm brass tube but the difference between this and 1/16 inch is significant. 1/16th inch is 1.5875mm - enough to stop me doing what I wanted. I might try Kennions as they seem to stock imperial sizes locally.
I used 2mm tube and .75mm to slip into it. I bought a box of acupuncture needles .015 a small flat file was handy to cut a ring around the tubes and snap and nail clippers for the wire.
Roy, that sounds interesting, could you explain in more detail? If you had photos that would be even better. Thanks.
@Roy Allan , can you please share some pictures of your handy work. Others are interested, making pricker needles is not so easy for some. You need to be resourceful some times with what you have.
