Hello all this heater was in very sad condition, but I have succeded in fettling now. i think I will put it on my boat if I find a chimney I don't know where to put this heater in the forum: the heater seems to be english made but with a Patria burner (Portugal) which the outer cap is made by Optimus !!??
I do like these boat heaters 8) , i recently helped another member here sort out a fueling problem with a similar heater but that had a remote fuel tank & we found a kink in the feed pipe which when sorted turned it into a really great bit of kit 8) Yours with its own tank , pump & bourdon tubed pressure gauge/filler looks the buisness Best regards Stu

Some one inch flexiflue or steel tubing would suffice for a chimney. I recall the Victory being sold as a cheaper alternative to the Taylor's boat heater, which was horrendously expensive at £1,400 new (according to one source). There was a second hand one going on Ebay which had a £500 successful bid. Might be wrong, but I thought the Victory was a far Eastern manufactured copy of a cylindrical design as opposed to Taylor's box like shape. They were not that popular amongst live-aboards mostly due to their comparatively low heat output to a solid fuel stove. Certainly would take the chill off a workshop providing the insulation was up to scratch, but you'd need to be standing on top of it when the temperature outside plummeted!

Hi Billy. These are made using the same burner parts as found on kerosine camping stoves. They operate on the same principle - preheat burner with alcohol, pump and kerosine vapourises into the burner where it is burnt as a gas. So the main things to look at are: the leather pump washer, at the botton of the pump tube is a non-return valve (NRV). you should also make sure it is not leaking anywhere. other things that wear out is the Jet and you might need a washer where the burner fits to the tank. If you can put some pressure in it and submerge it in a bucket of water with the main valve closed you should not see any bubbles. Have a look at all the stoves here: Classic Camp Stoves On the upside there are reasonably standard sizes of parts so measuring what you need before ordering it is good. Some pictures of yours would help !
I need some help with my Victory boat heater. After preheating the burner with no pressure in tank I close the air release pump 15 times, open the burner valve and from the burner jet I get a stream of fuel and starts to drip all over . If I light it it gives high flame and under burn. Than it seems like when all the fuel clears from the pick up tube gas starts to flow if I light up then it burns fine. What am I doing wrong. Checked for leaks only a small one from the pump. Has plenty of pressure. I attached some pictures.
I would guess if you are getting liquid fuel either the pre-heat did not heat it enough or there is too much fuel i.e the jet is oversized. Or the leak may be coming from another joint, not the jet. I mention it just in case but do not totally fill the tank - it needs some airspace as well in there.
I see there is no spirit cup under the burner of your heater. What are you using (and for how long) to preheat the burner ?
This is the way I got it. I saw a picture of same one and looks the same. I pour some Isopropyl alcohol around the burner and let it burn till it’s finished, then light it.
I took another look at pictures from Michael’s lamp. Yes i am missing the spirit cup. Right now I just pour alcohol on top and the jet doesn’t get heated.

Yes, the dish below the burner, as on Michel’s helps to heat the tubes that vapourise the fuel.. perhaps you can source a new dish or a member can point you in the right direction? Hopefully a eureka moment ! Use denatured alcohol, not isopropyl alcohol - the latter is messy and leaves sooty deposits. It does explain your problem lighting it as there would be little chance of getting it hot enough without the dish. Some people also use small pieces of solid fuel in the dish - I think you could even use sterno..
Thanks I was reading online some people use Heet the additive to gasoline for winter months in a car tank. I’m not sure the denatured alcohol is available in my state Also I couldn’t find Juliands on eBay I’m I did find two other sources for cups and requested inner diameter measurement
