This is my first experience with a pressure lantern, I had ordered a Anchor Brand and was getting the itch to get started I acquire a nice Butterfly Brand 826.

Being new and getting into lantern operation was frustrating due to the fact I could not maintain proper pressure in the tank. Well today was like the Red Sea opening up for Moses, previous owner placed a flat washer under the gauge cap rubber washer, I had a metal to metal mating surface that was caused the rapid pressure loss. Now everything is right with the world!

You learn something new every day.

Looks like a new lantern. Good thing is spare parts for Butterfly are available in America.

It does look brand new. I like the reflector. The other reflectors I have seen on Butterfly lanterns were the enamelled shallow dish type. The Butterfly is of much better quality than most Petromax clones made in the Far East. If you give it a good coat of wax and keep it away from the damp to prevent rust, they can last well. No problem with spare parts and seals; all are standard Petromax parts and available from many sources.

Took a magnet to the 826 and was pleasantly surprised, it's brass!

If it is in brass I think it might be one of the special Butterfly 826 that Stuga-Cabana (hytta.de) sold for a some years back.
I think it was exclusively made for them.
