    Neil,

    I've gone to believing Coleman did manufacture blow lamps to not believing once I saw Matthews post to now being 100% convinced that Coleman did in fact manufacture them.

    I'll see Matthews quick google sourced logo stating Butler and raise him with a logo from a Canadian catalogue.

    The logo states the blow lamp was Made In Canada

    I've no skin in this one but I'd always be wary of catalogue drawings being a clincher.

    @spiritburner

    When I saw the two different wordings I thought that either wording could still mean that they were not manufactured by Coleman - much like the small "No.96-like" Coleman stoves manufactured on behalf of Coleman in the UK and sold in the UK and Australia.

    I've just got an NIB Australian-made Coleman stove from 1958 (a Coleman-Thomas stove). Curiously, it does not identify its manufacturer and the wording is very ambiguous as to whether it was made for or by Coleman-Thomas: I will post this stove over at CCS this weekend (I've just finished photographing it), and link it here.

    I'm still researching this subject, and have been given access (next year) to some privately held information that could help square the Australian Coleman circle.

    Cheers

    Tony

    The ads have "Made in Canada-Coleman" what they don't have is "Made By Coleman". The gasoline models are Butlers. The issue here was the European Kero type. Now I can't match that to any other North American blow torch so they were either made in Canada by Coleman or bought in from Europe. If they were bought in then they were probably English and made in Birmingham. I am still not convinced either way. Show me a picture of the Coleman blow lamp production line and make me a beleiver. ::Neil::

    Still nothing new. That's a gasoline torch made by Butler. Not a kero model.

    If you scroll down that page I linked to earlier in this post, there is a good section on Coleman blowlamps, it shows the variations in the decals and talks about the links with Butler, monitor and townson & coxson.

    Well Monitor and Townson & Coxson (Burmos) were both high volume English stove and blow lamp makers. If Coleman were associated with either then that perhaps indicates they were having Solus stoves and maybe kero Blow lamps made in England. ::Neil::
